Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Scalloped Potatoes with Ham. This is another Pioneer Woman recipe. Well, it is adapted from this recipe. By PW (that recipe alone is fabulous also). These potatoes are not healthy at all, but ultimate comfort food and a great use for leftover ham. It was a little warm for these the other day, but I needed to use up the ham and was craving these. Scalloped Potatoes - adapted from a PW recipe. 4 to 5 russet potatoes. 8 ounces cream cheese.

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen: BLT Pizza

http://amandasrecipeblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/blt-pizza.html

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. I got this recipe from a mom on the mom's board I frequent. The recipe is easy and very tasty! I've made this several times already. This particular slice was from a Sunday when I had the in-laws over for pizza. Pizza crust (you can buy or make your own. Recipe I used is below.). 10 slices bacon, fried, drained, and crumbled. Onion ( I added). Cheese, I used cheddar and mozzarella. Lettuce, about 2 cups. 1 Tbsp. mayo. 1 Tbsp miracle whip.

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen: January 2009

http://amandasrecipeblog.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen. Thursday, January 29, 2009. I've made this soup a few times for my family now and each time I forget to take a picture and put it in my blog. This time I actually remembered. I like to make this rich, hearty soup on cold Minnesota days because it is very filling. This recipe makes enough for leftovers, but I generally freeze the remaining amount for another day. Recipe adapted from allrecipes. 1 lb ground beef. 1 c chopped onion. 1 c shredded carrots.

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen. Monday, September 29, 2008. 1 lb hamburger (I accidentally used DH's beef with bacon hamburger). 2 lg onions, chopped. 1 can beans in chili sauce. 2 cans light red kidney beans, drained. 2 cans petite diced tomatoes. 1 can tomato sauce. 1 pkg Carroll Shelby's chili kit (it is in the spice aisle. It comes in what looks like a small brown bag. I'm guessing other chili seasonings would work.). Links to this post. 1 pkg onion soup mix. 1 can cream of mushroom. 2 (8 oz...

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. So, I've decided I should try and update this thing more often. Here is a great recipe for Swedish Meatballs. I got this from my friend Heather and made some slight modifications, which are in bold print. My son even ate two of these, and they taste great reheated also! 1 lb ground beef. 1 small potato, grated. 1 med onion, grated. 1/3 c half and half. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 can cream of mushroom. These were great with mashed potatoes!

Adventures in a Mommy's Chaotic Kitchen. Sunday, June 1, 2008. This is another wonderful recipe from my friend Joan. It didn't have a title, so I'm just calling it breakfast casserole. 6 c loose packed hashbrowns, thawed. 2/3 c butter, melted. 8 oz hot pepper cheese, shredded (like pepperjack). 12 oz diced ham (2 cups). 8 oz Swiss cheese, shredded. 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt. Press hashbrown s in bottom of pan. Drizzle with butter. Bake at 425 for 25 minutes. Reduce heat to 350. Let stand 10 minutes. Anothe...

http://caracancook.blogspot.com/2012/01/broccoli-chowder.html

A blog to keep track of all the recipes I'm afraid to lose! This easy "meal ticket" was in my latest issue of Weight Watchers Magazine (Jan/Feb 2012). We made it tonight and it was great! We tripled it for the whole family, but the recipe below is for one serving - 1 3/4 cups and 5 Points Plus. Heat 1 tsp oil. In a saucepan. Add 1/3 cup chopped onion, 1/3 cup frozen chopped broccoli, 1 tsp minced garlic. And 1/4 tsp thyme. Cook 4 minutes. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth. 1/3 cup cream-style corn.

Saturday, July 25, 2009. Mark went fishing and brought home a bunch of salmon and trout. I think Avalon Park is located here because the land here was cheap; it wasn’t located near the main city, unlike Balwin Park, which is located in the middle of everything. People probably want to live in a place like this because it’s like their own little small American town; where you can walk to buy groceries at the shop that your neighbor owns. Thursday, October 15, 2009. Reading the opening chapter of the readings this week made me feel like the world was 48 hours away from entering into an apocalypse: extreme global weather systems, nuclear weapons, political instability and conflict over resources. Amanda\'s Recipe Box | Avoiding takeout one recipe at a time.

Amanda ’s Recipe Box. September 23, 2008. Much has happened since March. I’ve been to Portugal and taken a trip to Maine, and I’ve moved to New Jersey. A lot of my kitchen is still in boxes, and given the hour I get home most nights (last night I stumbled inside at 10 pm), cooking has not been happening. I usually eat frozen dinners. But this week I was so sick of them, so on Sunday I actually cooked. 1/2 lb ground pork sausage. 1/4 C chopped green pepper and onion. 1 1/4 C water. 3 T butter or margerine.
