Rep PR and Pizza. April 10, 2012. After the failed singles I moved over to the lift that is helping my lockout like crazy. Barbell Hip Thrusts. I’d like to personally thank swolesister. For showing me the way of the bar humps. I have been going up in weight every week for the past 2 cycles and tonight was no different. I hit 275 for 3 sets of 5 and paused at the top of all the reps. Large meatball pizza from the local pizzeria (and yes, I eat the whole thing). Protein shake with raw oats. 3 days / 1 post.

April 10, 2012. I forgot to update the blog last night (I admit it I was just being lazy) about my workouts. Today was 5×5 for squats just like I have been doing for the past 2 weeks. The one thing I have noticed is that I might be going too low on squats (yea, I know, sounds stupid) but the butt wink kind of weirds me out. Ill have to sort that out in the next round of squats on Wednesday. Tonight I made myself what has become known to me as the ‘protein burrito’ (sometimes I make two). April 7, 2012.

I had to stop around rep 3 cause my belt was all sorts of messed up. After back squats I did front squats. It’s moving along. April 24, 2012. This week is my 5 week of 5/3/1. I was actually looking forward to doing OHP tonight even though it’s been a struggle for me in the past. I could attribute it to long arms, but i’d rather not make excuses like that. All the warm ups seem to be flying up so maybe tonight would be different from past 5 weeks for OHP. NOPE. I only ended up getting 6 reps, but my form looked good the whole time so I can’t complain. Something new…. SQUATS. 3 days / 1 post →. 3 days / 1 post.

Something new…. SQUATS. April 24, 2012. Starting this cycle I am going to try something new. I am going to run a program a friend of mine did before his powerlifting meet, but tweak it with a little of my own things. 8211; 5/3/1 squat, but only hit the prescribed reps (maybe one assistance exercise). 8211; 5/3/1 OHP (normal assistance). 8211; 5/3/1 deadlift (high rep squats and barbell hip thrusts for assistance). 8211; 5/3/1 bench (normal assistance). Bench What can I say about my bench, other than I may have over estimated my max at the beginning and it is starting to catch up with me. I only got 6 reps at 225lbs and my elbows were all over the place. After this cycle I may deload this a bit. April 24, 2012.
