Tuesday, April 22, 2014. April 22: Gifts for the hardworking kids of George Brook. Today was another day on the job site, and we were welcomed by all of the children in their uniforms. This was our first time seeing them in their uniforms. They greeted us half way up the hill in bright yellow and blue colors. They were so proud and so happy. They held our hands all the way up to the job site. What a wonderful welcome to our day! Jacquie taking photos of the girls. Heading up the hill to the project site.

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Guatemala: San Miguel Dueñas: Aug 4 2015. While working on various projects, we demonstrated several signs of a strong team. Especially with projects like these, where the ultimate goal is to help the less fortunate, a team that is constantly bickering over what to do and how to do it won't accomplish much. Therefore I am grateful and impressed that our team works so well together. Leaders can change everything about a group and I'm glad my uncle is our leader. This blog is ded...

We have learned many interesting things while working with our assistants (the guys who know what they are doing and actually we assist them…) Nariz and Eddie. They teach us and put up with our learning, and definitely let us know if we are doing something wrong! It is also an important day to remember any mothers who have passed away. Not too far from our work site is the mausoleum of San Migue...

http://dwcvolunteersinguatemala.blogspot.com/2014/03/march-21-day-7.html
Friday, March 21, 2014. March 21: Day 7. Today was probably one of the most memorable days of our trip. Today marked the end of our work week in San Miguel Duenas. It was a very emotional day filled with good company, good laughs, and goodbyes. The rest of the morning was spent exploring the village and looking at past houses built by Developing World Connections. We headed back to the Open Windows Foundation to say goodbye to Teresa, Patrick, staff, and children. The goodbyes were hard but the relat...

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. July 29: Yoga, Action, Adventure Week #1.done! So I have been in Guatemala now for 8 days, and we have officially finished our first week of work on the house. I am in my element here. I knew I would be. Having been to Antigua once before, I knew what this place was like and it's even better than I remembered. The weather has been amazing! We are a determined group though, and did it in less than four hours, and we’re on track. That was a part that could thrown us back a...Through...

Bali, Indonesia - Developing World Connections: April 17: Helping Balinese kids...to be kids
http://dwcvolunteersinbali.blogspot.com/2012/04/april-17-helping-balinese-kidsto-be.html
Wednesday, April 18, 2012. April 17: Helping Balinese kids.to be kids. Bali has a way of wowing you with the beautiful scenery and the facade that you’re exposed to traveling around the countryside. Not everyone seems poor. In fact, poverty is not as in your face as I expected. As we drove down the roads, we saw small, road-side family businesses, service shops for scooters, and stores selling building supplies and wood carvings. Softchoice Employee and DWC Participant.
