Mitten Machen: Review: Portland Pie Co.
http://www.mittenmachen.com/2010/09/review-portland-pie-co.html
Monday, September 6, 2010. Review: Portland Pie Co. After my recent post. About Flatbread Company's gluten-free pizza, several people pointed me toward Portland Pie Co. For $1.25 each, the toppings on my 10-inch pizza were pretty scarce. I went with red sauce, Daiya. Vegan cheese, black olives, broccoli, and garlic. For carrying Daiya, Portland Pie Co. earns three chickpeas. For vegan-accessibility. I'd love to see more creative vegetarian sandwich choices—currently there's a hummus wrap (yawn)...Septemb...

For The Love of Food: November 2011
http://veganelbows.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 5, 2011. So long to Atomic #7. It's strange how I worked on this blog for a few years and then all of a sudden stopped. Let's see if I can end this craziness right here and now! I'd like to dedicate this blog post to a place I will dearly miss. About a year and a half ago a friend texted me that there was a new ice cream shop in town that did made to order vegan ice cream. I couldn't believe it! Peanut butter banana flavored almond milk ice. Cream w/penguin coat, aka chocolate shell.

For The Love of Food: April 2010
http://veganelbows.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Veggie Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. I don't live in the most vegan friendly city. We all know that. Luckily I have a little help finding safe places to have food thanks to VeganXpress. It was light and pretty good tasting. It was the exact opposite of the kind of pizza I use to eat. I think had I tried I might have been able to put the entire pizza away all by myself! But it was too good not to share. Maybe next time I'll give it a shot. :o). Friday, April 2, 2010. Website...

http://veganelbows.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 4, 2011. I'm getting back into the blog swing of things and I tend to forget to make posts right after I have delicious meals. I'll get better. I promise! So with that out of the way I wanted to share my first ever Thanksgiving meal. even though I've been vegan for 3 and 1/2 years! I usually just get drunk with my little brother and laugh my head off! Clockwise from the left: Tofurkey roast, garlic kale potatoes. With mushroom gravy, collard greens, sweet potatoes, white. Thats all I ate!

Mitten Machen: A Mainer Cooks Soul Food
http://www.mittenmachen.com/2010/11/mainer-cooks-soul-food.html
Thursday, November 4, 2010. A Mainer Cooks Soul Food. If you grew up in the southern United States, you probably won't get very excited about this recipe. Black-eyed peas, humbly seasoned with pork and onion, are a soul food staple. On New Year's Day, they're served with leafy greens and hot sauce for good luck. The greens symbolize money, and the beans, which swell when cooked, symbolize prosperity. We in the north grow up on baked beans. A warming dish of navy. Inspired by Grandma Shaw. I love black-ey...

I am a very hands-on person and love to create. I’ve always expressed this through playing around in the kitchen, and as I grew older, messing around with a camera in my hands too. Both activities hold very dear spots in my heart. What I enjoy most about cooking is that the options are endless. In the kitchen, there’s rarely room for boredom. Fruit in my summer rolls. Why not. Sesame tahini in my cookies. To keeping me sane. October 22, 2009 at 1:33 am. 8220;I am an avid runner, a cook, an artist, and a ...
