ellenblonder: More Monkeys

http://ellenblonder.blogspot.com/2014/12/more-monkeys.html

Tuesday, December 23, 2014. 169; Ellen Blonder, © Steve Coleman. Here's a shot of the room I'm working in, filled with Steve Coleman's amazing art. The monkeys I'm painting are in the blue spaces at the top of the columns. 169; Ellen Blonder, © Steve Coleman. This is a close-up of the top of the column in the room shot. 169; Ellen Blonder, © Steve Coleman. Here's a better photo of the second guy. 169; Ellen Blonder, © Steve Coleman. And this is today's work. Posted by Ellen Blonder.

ellenblonder: Plumper Rooster 2

http://ellenblonder.blogspot.com/2015/04/plumper-rooster-2.html

Wednesday, April 1, 2015. 169; Ellen Blonder. Such a fanciful creature deserves a wild environment, don't you think? This one is going to be fun but slow going, although the canvas board is only 16 x 20 inches. Posted by Ellen Blonder. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I like to share work in progress, random foodie notes (since I've written two cookbooks and illustrated others), and occasional past work from different periods of my 40 years of drawing and painting. ellenblonder: May 2015

http://ellenblonder.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 9, 2015. 169; Ellen Blonder. It has taken a month and a half, off and on, to finally get to the fluffy feathers. I've also spent the last couple of days toning some of the colors down and adding last subtle color changes in the plants all around. I have heard that this rooster is no longer on the premises, disappearing as mysteriously as he first appeared. I'm glad I got to see him when I did. Posted by Ellen Blonder. ellenblonder: Mynah - Final

http://ellenblonder.blogspot.com/2015/03/mynah-final.html

Friday, March 20, 2015. 169; Ellen Blonder. I have finally found some time to just about finish this mynah painting. I may play with the bird's feather texture a bit more, but I'll live with it a while first. Posted by Ellen Blonder. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). ellenblonder: Dahlia with Curled Petals - Progress

http://ellenblonder.blogspot.com/2015/06/dahlia-with-curled-petals-progress.html

Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Dahlia with Curled Petals - Progress. 169; Ellen Blonder. After taking a break from a series of watercolor dahlia paintings, I realized there were more I had photographed and meant to paint ever since. This one has petals that curl in all directions. 169; Ellen Blonder. No matter how dark I think my first shades of pink are, I always seem to go over them again and again as the flower takes shape. 169; Ellen Blonder. Posted by Ellen Blonder. Culinary Arts Museum: March 2012

http://culinaryartsmuseum.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 2, 2012. The Culinary Arts Museum acquires a piece of a RI Icon. So a museum employee (we'll call him Steve) was driving down Richmond Street one day and saw that a new restaurant was moving into where Stanley's once stood. "What are you doing with that sign? He asks. Next thing I know, it's arriving here on the museum loading dock (there is obviously much more to this story that I am leaving out). Needless to say, the museum has a new acquisition that's sure to make your mouth water. Below...

Also, I repositioned the uppermost chick because I didn't like the head-on symmetry of it. L.A. Is My Beat

Monday, March 26, 2018. The Other B.H. I crocheted Princess Rhoda a birthday crown! On Saturday, we celebrated Rhoda's birthday. Rhoda and I have known each other for almost 35 years! We met while working at 20th Century Fox Studio. We grew up near each other and had many things in common. We hit it off the minute we met. We usually live it up and go someplace fancy, but I was delighted she wanted to try Kim's. Estate Sale in Windsor Estates/View Park, Baldwin Hills. This was a lovely home in a beautiful...
