Signature houston Restaurants Launch Summer Chef’s Series for a Unique Dining Experience →. July 9, 2010 · 10:31 pm. The food is by no means spectacular, but it’s also pretty good. Some menu items I have tried were fresh fish ceviche (tilapia), 4oz filet, and seared ahi tuna – all sufficiently tasty, just not the best I’ve had. I also sampled a couple signature cocktails – the cucumber rose and the ginger margarita – again, both decent. 3 responses to “. July 9, 2010 at 10:42 pm. July 9, 2010 at 10:54 pm.

Monthly Archives: January 2010. January 19, 2010 · 5:56 pm. I have taken an unannounced hiatus from blogging on the Houston food scene because I grew uninterested in new food conquests and, more importantly, was on a money saving spree – preventing me from trying certain restaurants that are a bit on the pricier side/that require a date. Why bother? In the meantime, I have tried quite a few places on my “cheap/not date” list which I will briefly cover below:. Rating: 9 (super prices, food and hummus!

Capital Grille Does Economical at the Bar. July 2, 2010 · 7:49 pm. I have been around several of Houston’s Wine bars and sampled several cheese plates (among other small plate items) and here are some of my thoughts:. Came here looking for a late night meal just after the kitchen closed – after the bartender noticed I was visibly upset about the lack of food, he whipped up a cheese plate that was delicious! Max’s Wine Dive (revisited). Not your typical wine bar – (hello Fried Egg Sandwich! I was very exc...

A discussion of restaurants, food stores, dishes, and trends in Houston. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Uni pics (uni dinner at Rainbow Lodge). I have written too much about Randy Rucker and the Rainbow Lodge. So I am not going to write about Randy's uni dinner at the Lodge a few weeks ago. Instead, here are some photos. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. The Boston food scene. The city seemed afraid of flavors, paralyzed by its Puritan antipathy to pleasure. Boston's amazing little Japanese restaurant is called O Ya.

Apr 9, 2015. We just got back from Vegas in time for the Easter Bunny to arrive! We had a wonderful Easter.the kids enjoyed the time off other than Eli getting a sinus infection and needing a doctor visit! The boys seeing their stuff. Sofie getting excited about her things. And a happy girl! Stuffing the eggs with prizes. Playing with Abuela in the bubbles! Just a lit...

A discussion of restaurants, food stores, dishes, and trends in Houston. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Fusion Now: 3 dishes at Jenny's Noodle House, Dragon Bowl, and Bamboo House. Pan Asian fusion several years later. A few years ago, pan-Asian fusion cooking seemed so exciting. Would it bring us unusual, creative dishes? Would it draw out new flavors we have never tasted? These three pan-Asian dishes typify some of the strengths and weaknesses of the genre. 1 Jenny's Noodle House: Art Car Curry. It is a so...
Food in Houston: March 2009
http://foodinhouston.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
A discussion of restaurants, food stores, dishes, and trends in Houston. Saturday, March 28, 2009. I was wrong about jellyfish. A distant vague memory. As a food, I thought jellyfish was exotic. In 1994, I went to a Chinese buffet in the Rice Village. Good Chinese buffets are rare, but this one had high quality and some not-so-Americanized dishes. (I believe the name may have been China Station, and I know the restaurant is long departed). As I contemplated what to do with these bland, slimy strands, I r...

Sushi bar is mediocre. Star chef leaves. 8226;Restaurant goes downhill. The problem is that last part. I assumed Soma's food had gone downhill . Food in Houston: September 2009
http://foodinhouston.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
A discussion of restaurants, food stores, dishes, and trends in Houston. Saturday, September 26, 2009. Houston's new peasant food. I expected a trendy tapas / wine bar. I expected a cheaper casual version of Da Marco. I expected what Alison Cook called a "useful restaurant" with modest portions. And I expected more of a crowd. What I found was something far more interesting. Along with Feast. And to a lesser degree Dolce Vita. But with all the excitement, where are the masses? What is new peasant food?

feed me! i'm hungry!!
Monday, November 09, 2015. Inspired by dan churchill's epic granola. Mine includes: cranberries, raisins, pepitas, cashews, almonds and macadamia nuts. (minus the coconut flakes). Not too shabby dan! For my taste buds, I think I'd like it more if it was a wee bit sweeter but then it defeats the purpose of making it healthy and full-of-goodness. Fortunately, the raisins and cranberries made up for the missing bit. (Ok, I'll admit it. I have a sweet tooth! Saturday, October 31, 2015. No one got sick.
