Friday, July 1, 2011. I went to Turtle Bay tonight to take some pictures. The Arboretum, Sacramento River, and walking trails are in the neighborhood. I can see how the children attending Turtle Bay would have many opportunities to go on field trips and have grand adventures right by their own school! Daniel made a wonderful meal- -baked potatoes, steamed vegetables, fresh green salad, and to top it all off he baked some luscious salmon encrusted with Daniel's own special blend of spices. Very yummy! It was then time to open presents.

Monday, July 18, 2011. Leanna said I could put the photos from their trek up Shasta Bally on my blog. This is probably the closest I will ever come to hiking this trail! I had the privilege of watching Trent while they were hiking up the mountain. The descriptions of the photos are in Leanna's words. On the way up, not too far into the trail. Liked how this tree made a bridge. Maybe a mile or mile and a half up the trail. Our first big rest, about 1/2 way up. First glimpse of the lake. We hiked to snow!
