To travel is better than to arrive.: March 2008
http://maggiegentry.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 24, 2008. Perugia has some crazy weather. Notice: it's March 24, and last Thursday it snowed here. Today it's snowing again. What is this craziness? I'm used to T-shirts and shorts by now. Send some good weather our way.PLEASE. Wednesday, March 12, 2008. I apologize for it taking me so long to post this. After spring break I had two research papers due that consumed my life. Here are the stories, and I'll get more pictures up soon! That first night, we were just hungry and tired, so Lauren ...

To travel is better than to arrive.: May 2008

Saturday, May 10, 2008. Sorrento is absolutely stunning. We got into our amazing hotel, which is still pretty vacant. High season doesn’t start until June, so we’re pretty much alone in this hotel, which is great! We have our very own balcony too. The first day we just shopped around town, and I got myself a ridiculously awesome Italian leather purse. Mom thinks it looks like a man bag, but I think it rocks because it has a place to hold pens! As a rainstorm rolled through. The last shot of the night.

To travel is better than to arrive.: The Three C's: Como, Camogli, & Cinque Terre
http://maggiegentry.blogspot.com/2008/05/three-cs-como-camogli-cinque-terre.html
Saturday, May 3, 2008. The Three C's: Como, Camogli, and Cinque Terre. One of the last mornings in Perugia. My roommate Jenny and I stayed up after a late night at the discoteca to watch the sun rise. This was essentially my backyard. Mom watching a rain storm from her hotel window. Last picture with Kristen in Perugia. The places we’ve been so far, hence the title: Como, Camogli, and Cinque Terre. First stop – Como. Fun fact: George Clooney has two villas here. Unfortunately there were no spottings.

To travel is better than to arrive.: June 2007

Monday, June 25, 2007. Elephant bathing and white water rafting. Monday, June 25, 2007. The massage was great. Today we went canyoning. Tomorrow we leave for the Elephant Nature Park where we get to bath elephants and watch them in their natural habitat. Riding elephants is actually really brutal stuff, so this is a way to see the elephants up close and personal but respecting them at the same time. This is a picture of the white elephant at the park.even though she's actually pink! Labels: an email to me.

Monday, February 25, 2008. Road trip: Italian Style. I picked Ibraheem up from the train station on Thursday evening to go out to dinner with a group of my friends. There’s a restaurant right up the street from my apartment that I had yet to eat at, so we decided it would be a great night to try it. The main reason I was drawn to it was the pumpkin quiche. And oh, it was so good! The next morning, we got an early start…9:30 is early for us on a weekend! We are all a bit shook up, but decide to head on...

Tuesday, April 22, 2008. What I do instead of studying for finals. This is the same dance company that I saw in Assisi earlier in the semester. I didn't see this exact piece, but you must take the 5 minutes to watch this video. It's absolutely incredible. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Sunday, April 20, 2008. Last days in Perugia. The weather in Perugia has been pretty chilly, but this weekend, our last weekend in Perugia, it has been absolutely beautiful! Monday, April 7, 2008. I kid you not, people ride...

To travel is better than to arrive.: January 2008

Monday, January 28, 2008. Ercolano (Herculaneum) is the city that was covered in ash by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Since it was not covered in smoldering hot rock, the buildings and especially paintings are much more preserved than those in Pompeii. It's about 1/5 in size of Pompeii too, so we were able to cover it in about 2 hours. Few times in my life have I been happier than in that moment. It was hands down the best night's sleep I've had. We woke up the next morning and headed to Pompeii...
