We Wander for Distraction, but We Travel for Fulfillment: Le Luberon
http://lwelker.blogspot.com/2008/03/le-luberon.html
Saturday, March 22, 2008. Last weekend we went to this area of Provence called "Le Luberon". It's about 30 mins north of Aix and features your "typical" provençial sights. Lavender and sunflower fields (which are unfortunately not in bloom until the summer), medieval ruins, olive groves, and cute little cottages. A tasty little fact for you, John Malcovich lives in this area, and we actually drove right past his house. The Ol' Ocher Quarry. Old Clock Tower in Roussillon, featuring blue shutters.

Hong Kong Holiday: Durian is Disgusting
http://laurainhongkong.blogspot.com/2008/05/durian-is-disgusting.html
Study Abroad Spring 2008: Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Saturday, May 3, 2008. Today was study-day. After thoroughly enjoying the first two days of our holiday weekend, I decided it was probably time to get work done- especially since I have two marketing simulation projects coming to a close next week. At La Bodega- a bar that advertised "Mojito Night" without having any kind of special for mojitos. I was confused. Can we just take a moment to notice how BUFF the butcher is? Max had be...

Ciao: February 2008
http://kristen-ciao.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 26 February 2008. Maggie's Pics from Pisa and Venice. I think this may be my happiest moment in life. Welcome to Venice boiiiii. Oh, in St. Marks Square, there are 1,000,000 pigeons and silly little tourists pay a euro for seeds to allow these pigeons to fly ALLLLLLLL over you and basically eat you. Its hillarious, and gross. I m not a pigeon fan. These guys are exactly like your best friends in Times Square. SO hilarious, you would have loved them. Ciao bella, you want a ride? The fog in Venice...

Hong Kong Holiday: China in the News
http://laurainhongkong.blogspot.com/2008/05/china-in-news.html
Study Abroad Spring 2008: Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Monday, May 12, 2008. China in the News. This past semester has been a learning experience in more ways than one. Once again, today proved that lots has happened in Hong Kong and China these first four months. Edison Chan sex scandal made huge news in Hong Kong in January. Brief flu outbreak in Hong Kong before spring break brought back fears that are still very much alive here- thanks to the avian flu and SARS. But Wal-Mart wouldn...

Hong Kong Holiday: The Need to Write
http://laurainhongkong.blogspot.com/2008/05/need-to-write.html
Study Abroad Spring 2008: Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Friday, May 9, 2008. The Need to Write. Today was just one of those days where nothing went exactly according to plan, yet I'm somehow feeling great- about life in general. Last night Jen and I went to a karaoke bar with Phil, Matt, Kaz. Boys) and a bunch of others. This was my second karaoke experience in Hong. Kong are just clusters of small, private rooms where you can sing your heart out without embarrassing. After dinner I cam...

Hong Kong Holiday: Dos mas dias
http://laurainhongkong.blogspot.com/2008/05/dos-mas-dias.html
Study Abroad Spring 2008: Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Tuesday, May 13, 2008. No one speaks Spanish here, but you probably do! I have an exam tomorrow and no major projects/committments/exams on Thursday. I guess I could have titled this email "Uno Mas Dia" but that would just be rubbing it into the faces of those who have a real hell-week. I like to think of this today as "dieciocho mas dias".because you will be back on Planet Texas in 18 more days. May 14, 2008 at 5:48 AM. View my co...

Ciao: April 2008
http://kristen-ciao.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 23 April 2008. I guess I should begin with what I expected. To be; a quaint little city with damns and rivers, houses with pointed roves, and people in wooden clogs- oh and legal drugs and prostitution. Welp, it was all that but more. Is a beautiful city with even more beautiful people living there. I swear every Dutch person I saw had this natural beautiful glow to them. Dutch people are also, as a whole, the friendliest, warmest, most hospitable culture I have ever encountered. It was the ki...

Musings from a College Pastor/Secretary/Wife/Artist: Family Pictures
http://mmikeska.blogspot.com/2008/07/family-pictures_25.html
Musings from a College Pastor/Secretary/Wife/Artist. Friday, July 25, 2008. The color on this blog is really flat and I had to make them a super small size to get them on this blog. So keep in the back of your mind that these pics will be a bigger size and better color =). Let me know which ones you want:. These are great pictures you took. PS I'm so glad, too, that you're family got to come and visit with all of the relatives they had never met, or had not seen in a long while. August 9, 2008 at 12:24 PM.
