Liz in Mali

Saturday, May 7, 2011. Wedding bells in Mali. I had no idea what to do. We've been continuing the meetings in the Peulh quartier to discuss and plan for the well project. I felt that I was finally fulfilling my ideal image of development as I sat with a group of men on the ground under the moonlight discussing exactly how we want the construction of the well to go. I'm in Bamako now and the funding came in. Hopefully we can begin construction in the next couple of days. Back to site today! Bamako has bee...

Liz in Mali: Hot Season and Mangos

http://lizannisinmali.blogspot.com/2011/03/hot-season-and-mangos.html

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Hot Season and Mangos. Life in village is continuing on as usual, with the exception of the arrival of hot season. Temperatures are rising above 100 degrees these days really starting to notice the lack of electricity! The positve side of hot season is an abundance of mangos and papayas. Many afternoons are now spent sitting in the shade devouring sweet fruit. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'll be serving as a health education volunteer in Mali beginning July 1st!

Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Turkey Day Mali Style. Got to see Mali’s president! He paid a visit to a nearby village in order to draw attention to a new cow vaccination campaign. You were all in my thoughts this past month especially you grandma! Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM and DAD! So wish I could be there to celebrate. Love you! I have the best family in the world no question. Looking forward to a very sunny Christmas. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Elizabeth Annis, PCV.

Monday, November 1, 2010. N bora Ameriki, n bena sans fila ke yan. It’s making my life a lot easier anyway. Back in Bamako now and so happy to be with Americans again, eating good food and speaking English. Have eaten well and had a great time celebrating a friend’s birthday. Leaving Bamako in a few days for site until Thanksgiving. But Im so glad i...

Lizzy's Life <3

Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Now, I just have to remember everything I learned so that I can pass the Praxis 2 Reading Specialists test that I am taking Jan 9! Along with this class I also had other classes that I was not too excited about and that also gave me trouble, but I managed to make it and I even managed to get 1 A and the rest all B 's so I would say that is pretty decent. :). Well, I suppose it is almost lunch time so I should probably go figure out what I'm going to fix today. This is someth...

We arrived at the venue after a fine dinner with a dozen friends. We rolled from the restaurant down the street (literally…since the curbs in Livingston are not handicap friendly…one of the many things I never noticed before but am so aware of now). The event was held in a local bar/dance club…upstairs…! Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? 8221; ...

When I think back on what I’ve been doing for the past month and a half. well, it’s jumbled up between gallery sitting, poking at this or that painting, and making jewelry when I’m too tired or feeling too hot to stand in front of the easel. So, more painting and less thinking. (more…). July 31, 2015. June 20, 2015. One of t...
