Crunching For Science: July 2013
http://crunchingforscience.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
BOINC on Raspberry Pi. Monday, July 22, 2013. I will admit after the Raspberry Pi frustrations I was skeptical about feasibly running any projects on any non x86 processor. Though through all the endless searching for how to get things working properly on the Raspberry Pi I did come across a few groups working hard and getting decent results getting certain BOINC Projects to run on Android Devices. I did not give it much thought at the time, because I had no Android Devices. Either the nexus has a far mo...

Crunching For Science: World Community Grid

BOINC on Raspberry Pi. I crunch world Community Grid, because its a great way to help the world through science. In my profile settings, I am signed up for every single project available, though I have a feeling due to the greater system requirements for the Clean Energy Project, there are fewer people crunching that project, which leads to those that do getting a larger number of Clean Energy Project tasks. Crunching For Science: May 2013
http://crunchingforscience.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
BOINC on Raspberry Pi. Sunday, May 26, 2013. I am still alive and Crunching! It has been over a month since I last posted, and let me just say life has happened. While crunching has more or less continued besides for a week of down time last week. My graduate studies in mathematics have come to a halt, and I am now gainfully employed working as a developer on the database side of things. What does this mean in the long run? Crunching For Science: Computing concerns
http://crunchingforscience.blogspot.com/p/computing-concerns.html
BOINC on Raspberry Pi. Help My Computer is Running Too Hot! What worked for me, but sadly only seems to be available for windows is TThrottle. Does this waste power? I really have two answers to this question, but let me ask you this, how many of you leave your computers on all the time, often not even in standby, simply with just a screen saver/ blank screen? Crunching For Science: Yoyo@Home

BOINC on Raspberry Pi. A wrapper/ umbrella project that is much much more right up my ally, academically. All the projects currently supported are related to either physics or mathematics. While three of the projects I could care less about, most of their projects, as some of them like Optimal Golumb Ruler, while fun and interesting, strikes me mostly as sort of like having a computer solve sudoku puzzles. Crunching For Science: August 2013
http://crunchingforscience.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
BOINC on Raspberry Pi. Thursday, August 29, 2013. The Good and the Bad for August. So the bad for August will be dismal numbers, and dismal contribution to science through the abilities of my computers. The good? When things cool off for the winter I will feel far better about having my machine run 24/7 again. So to my team members, I apologize and it will hopefully only be a bit longer till the credits start raining again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). World Community Grid Signature. Bronze - 20k PPS Seive.

Crunching For Science: April 2013
http://crunchingforscience.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
BOINC on Raspberry Pi. Saturday, April 13, 2013. I have lately taken up a concerted effort to remind myself how to program. While I am not foreign to the task of programming, once I completed my minor in computer science, I more or less hung up my keyboard ( figuratively) in an effort to focus on mathematics. I rather regret that, as I really enjoyed programming when I cared about what I was actually programming. Sunday, April 7, 2013. Not all Projects are Equal. Wrapper) by brute force is far worse than...

Crunching For Science: December 2013
http://crunchingforscience.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
BOINC on Raspberry Pi. Saturday, December 28, 2013. Experiences with BOINC for Android. Let me preface this with, for the most part I am happy with BOINC for android devices, having used on my nexus 7 ( old not the new one released in 2013) for half a year or so now. Doing this really makes me happy I abandoned my BOINC on raspberry pi quest, as on the nexus with just as powerful if not more so processor as the raspberry pi. Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Is Boinc losing its ability to draw projects? This ...
