For the sausages: simmer some bratwurst sausages and 1 sliced onion in about 1/2 a bottle of good German beer. For 10 minutes. This should cook them most of the way through. Sunday evening I was surveying my kitchen and realized that I had a lot of bits and pieces left over, but not really enough for a whole meal. After going through the pantry I realized that I could cobble together a soup in my crock-pot. 1 cup chopped turkey chunks. 1 small onion chopped (you can use celery instead or a mix of both if you prefer). 1 cup sliced carrots (I used some leftover baby carrots).

I got mine from the Handy Mart in Burbank. 1 lbs of small potatoes cut into wedges. 2 large onions cut into wedges. 4-6 carrots cut into fork size chunks. 1 small head of cabbage cut into wedges. 1 can beer of your choice. A visit from grandparents is a highlight in the life of a small boy. A small tent is the perfect way to amuse a little guy AND motivate him to help clean up. No cleany, no tenty. Bronchitis sucks, but it helps if you catch it early. The only time my guy will nap is when he's sick. I deserve a pretty bedside lamp, and I'm going to make that a reality next week.

March 17, 2015. Saturday morning was such an exciting day… Our Thermomix arrived! It was great going through the functions again and also so exciting to think we could have a play. Our first recipe we made was the vegetable stock, using the recipe from the recipe chip. Wasn’t sure I’d get much use out of the stock but I think we will. Also made a focaccia bread for lunch, was lovely! Dinner was Thai Pumpkin Soup. This was a little on the spicy side but as my fiancé said “very authentic Thai! March 6, 2015.
