Dawn of the Dad. Sleepless Nights and Sh*tty Nappies. December 24, 2015. January 11, 2016. Dawn of the Dad. Before I get down to the serious business of the day, may I take the time to wish you all a great, productive and prosperous 2016! A little while ago I posted a reflection on my first anniversary as a blogger. Whether it be trying to raise money and awareness of SIDS, (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Trying to dispel the stigma of mental health problems. With this realisation, and the burning need w...

A BIG Adventure | Dawn of the Dad

Dawn of the Dad. Sleepless Nights and Sh*tty Nappies. March 14, 2016. March 14, 2016. Dawn of the Dad. On Friday, my three year old son took on the biggest adventure of his life, his first real mountain, and wow did he rock it! The mountain in question is Sugar Loaf, in the Black Mountains, near Abergavenny. With an elevation of 596m, a prominence of 413 meters, and only a 5k hike, up and down, it’s only a baby, but when you’re only three years old, it may as well be Everest. And fair play he didn’t.

Parenting styles and reality | what they don't tell you about motherhood

What they don't tell you about motherhood. Parenting styles and reality. September 19, 2015. I like cuddling my baby in bed next to me but I believe she is safer, happier and better placed generally in her cot to sleep. This, again, doesn’t comply with attachment parenting philosophy and therefore must mean I am from that harsh camp of parents who likes to banish her baby away from the maternal embrace into her own, (mighty expensive and comfortable, I might add,) cot to sleep. Lets stop assigning labels...

Family. Pregnancy. Lifestyle. Parenting. What my 15 month old REALLY wants. December 19, 2014. December 19, 2014. With Christmas no sooner than 6 days, or 5 sleeps, away, I am still thinking of things I could possibly get our 15 month old son for Christmas. We haven’t got him much purely on the basis that everyone else is going to be getting him lots of toys, clothes, books and probably money! But, what does my 15 month old want? Behind those beautiful blue eyes, what does he really want? But the ultimat...

Toby reveals all.. « Raising the Rings

Family. Pregnancy. Lifestyle. Parenting. January 9, 2015. January 9, 2015. Hi everyone, I’m Toby and I’m 16 months old. My Mummy thought it was best if I took care of this blog post, especially since. The one that’s going to be a big brother. My Mummy and Daddy have been telling me all about a new baby coming, but I’m still not really sure what they’re on about. I just look at them and give them a big clap and a smile at the end of what they’re saying, and that seems to please them. Cot, or my milkies.

Mummy-to-be must haves – Trimester #1 « Raising the Rings

Family. Pregnancy. Lifestyle. Parenting. Mummy-to-be must haves – Trimester #1. December 16, 2014. Everyone knows that the first trimester in pregnancy can be one of the trickiest. If you’re not talking to the porcelain Gods, you’re sleeping and hoping you won’t feel so exhausted. If you’re not sleeping, you’re debating whether you want something to eat. You tend to feel awfully rotten and parent your other kids from the sofa! So what can you do to make yourself feel better? Take folic acid and vitamin D...

Family. Pregnancy. Lifestyle. Parenting. My Babydino guest posts. December 15, 2014. December 15, 2014. I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to do a couple of guest posts for Babydino, the online baby and nursery retailer. I gave my views about babies watching television, which I was a little apprehensive about doing as I know these can sometimes be very biased. Like most things in life, moderation is key and I think I kept a very balanced view and open mind. Or another passing craze? You are...

Family. Pregnancy. Lifestyle. Parenting. Fill ‘n’ Squeeze -Review-. June 22, 2014. December 14, 2014. They say it’s “baby food made squeezee”, so I decided to give it a go. You can basically make everything from purees to yoghurts for the babies, and use them for smoothies for the big kids. This is a genuinely genius product with no age limit attached. You could even use one yourself if you really wanted to. There’s only 3 pouches here (2 are in the freezer). This entry was posted in Reviews. June 7, 2014.
