How to Bake Pandesal? 2 teaspoons of yeast. 1 1/2 cups of warm water. 2 tablespoons of sugar. 1 teaspoon of salt. 2 tablespoons of shortening. 4 1/2 cups of sifted bread flour. Bread crumbs as needed. Dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water. Combine the remaining water, sugar, salt and shortening in a bowl. Add 4 cups of the flour and the yeast mixture. Mix well then transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Place the risen dough on a floured surface. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
