Ramblin' through...: Garlic should be worshipped by some cult
http://pathlessmusings.blogspot.com/2011/03/garlic-should-be-worshipped-by-some.html
On the long journey from suburbia to simplicity. Monday, March 21, 2011. Garlic should be worshipped by some cult. One of the signs of Spring. This photo is from last year. In the background you can see, from right to left, the old corn crib we used as a packing shed, the 77 RV I lived in for several months, and the machine shed that featured, among other things, a fairly large half-pipe that attracted skaters from all over. Ramblin' through...: November 2009
http://pathlessmusings.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
On the long journey from suburbia to simplicity. Tuesday, November 03, 2009. The closing of another season. You see, for us, it's too easy. The past couple of years (and this one is playing out the same) we have finished up with the main tasks on the farm and have gone on with our lives. We've left behind many of the odds and ends that get done in the less busy times- all those chores you put off for one reason or another. I'm going to miss these mountains while I'm away. And Asheville, too, because ...

Ramblin' through...: You thought I was gone!
http://pathlessmusings.blogspot.com/2011/02/you-thought-i-was-gone.html
On the long journey from suburbia to simplicity. Friday, February 25, 2011. You thought I was gone! And so did I. For a little bit. But I'm back. For maybe a little bit. Or a while. Who knows. But I'll try. The Earthway "precision" seeder can still kiss my ass (but I can empathize with it a little more). I like soil blocks for seed starting. Kale might be my favorite crop to grow for sale (but come on America, when will you learn to love the kale? Widget by Jack Book. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://cheekykitchen.blogspot.com/2010/12/tacos-al-pastor-fake-out-style.html
I'm cheeky, and I like to cook. And eat. Mostly eat. Sunday, December 12, 2010. Tacos Al Pastor, Fake-Out Style. Where I said if you have rice noodles and pad thai sauce in your cupboard, you will always have a dinner on hand? It was true. But I forgot to mention one important thing. Did you know that you can put lots of things in a tortilla? The key here is not to think about Ortega and “gringo tacos” with lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc. Sure, you can always go that route, but making an im...Really, thoug...

exp skate: September 2009
http://expskate.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
This blog is about my experiences with art, music, skateboarding and life. But mostly skateboarding. Tuesday, September 8, 2009. I went to the Barn Burner at Peasant's Plot. It was quite an experience. Lots of dudes from Chicago were there this year but it seemed like there were less people? It was super fun though and the bands were great; Assault, Sweet Cobra and Party Downers to name a few. SOme of the kids from last year who had recently started skating were destroying the mini ramp! Come out to the ...

The Cheeky Kitchen: Turkey Cranberry Strudel
http://cheekykitchen.blogspot.com/2010/12/turkey-cranberry-strudel.html
I'm cheeky, and I like to cook. And eat. Mostly eat. Saturday, December 4, 2010. Operation use up thanksgiving leftovers, part three. Then, like a bright beacon of light, an image came to me…turkey, nuts, cranberries, all encased in a golden shell of….CRESCENT ROLLS! The much esteemed by sissy and me, deliciously kitschy Turkey Cranberry Ring my mom concocted long, long ago, based perhaps on a Papered Chef recipe, was calling to me. It was then that I knew. I must make it. Now. But you know what? Because...

The Cheeky Kitchen: Indian-Spiced Potato Samosas with Curry Lime Yogurt
http://cheekykitchen.blogspot.com/2010/12/indian-spiced-potato-samosas-with-curry.html
I'm cheeky, and I like to cook. And eat. Mostly eat. Thursday, December 9, 2010. Indian-Spiced Potato Samosas with Curry Lime Yogurt. But aside from their adding more food to a meal, appetizers have a different sort of feel than a main course. They're smaller, more playful. Many are made to be eaten with fingers, so wrapped up in a pastry or on a stick. Dolloped with sauce or dipped into a bowl, they're just more FUN than big food. Whatever one I want! This version replaced deep-fried dough with phyllo d...
