There are a couple of books I like to read aloud regardless of my feelings towards snow. Snow by Cynthia Rylant. Her text makes me actually feel warm while reading about snow. Sometimes there are emergency calls for donations - if a freezer goes down at a store, a ton of ground beef or frozen chickens have to be picked up and immediately transferred to the donation distribution site before they thaw. By Lloyd Alexander is another book that I would have not read without my son, Isaac. Unlike The Hobbit.
