River Chess Association - Chess Valley Walk

http://riverchessassociation.co.uk/chess-valley-walk.html

One of the best ways to appreciate the River Chess is to walk its length along the Chess Valley Walk - part of the route was included as one of the top 20 Christmas Walks in The Times. Download it here. The walk is way-marked and there are interpretation boards with historical and natural history information along the route. Chesham is the first Walkers Are Welcome Town in the Chilterns, so walkers are encouraged to visit the town and there are plenty of pubs for walkers to quench their thirsts!

Trout in Dirty Places. Over several years of researching Trout in Dirty Places. And running this blog, we’ve noticed something very strange about modern fly-fishing gear. If you want to stroll the banks of a manicured chalkstream, or cast a fly across a well-appointed salmon river, there’s plenty of old-school tweed and waxed cotton to help you look the part. That’s why Urbantrout fly-fishing gear is here. First launched at the British Fly Fair International in 2013. And here’s one other important thing.

Trout in Dirty Places. On August 05th 2015. Urban fly-fishing report: River Frome, Bristol. For the last couple of seasons we’ve been hearing intriguing urban-trouty rumours. About the Bristol Frome. A little limestone river which rises in the rural Cotswolds and flows broadly south-west past the university quarter at Frenchay to meet the much larger Avon in the centre of Bristol. So when we heard how respected competition angler. And confirmed urban big fish hunter). We wondered if he’d like to. The riv...

Trout in Dirty Places. On August 13th 2015. Pic of the day: If Carlsberg did balsam bashing. It’s a fact that invasive non-native species like Himalayan balsam. Positively thrive in places where the balance of nature has already been thrown out of whack by human activities. Not to mention the human activity of bringing them to western Europe from their native home in the Himalayas in the first place! And that puts urban river restorationists. Right on the front line. Zoe and the World | The mis-adventures of a girl, a dog, and a van

Zoe and the World. The mis-adventures of a girl, a dog, and a van. So you wanna raft the Grand Canyon? Step 1: Win the Permit Lottery. The truth is that you can absolutely plan such a trip and I will help make it easy. As someone with three trips in three years (or in one month, four trips in four years), I frequently get asked how to plan the trip or how to start the process. I planned my first trip with 61 days’ noticewith ZERO previous experience. If I did it, you can, too! Well worth the effort!
