Running with Ryan: Saturday's 5K - The Purple Run

http://www.runningwithryan.net/2013/10/saturdays-5k-purple-run.html

Saturday's 5K - The Purple Run. I want to share a little about each run between now and Ryan's birthday - The Shiner Half. But first I want to go back just a few days because this weekend's runs were worth sharing! Saturday morning, we had a sitter (an awesome one at that, she was here at 6:30am! So we could go run The First Purple Run. I was a little disappointed we couldn't stay for the ceremony afterwards, but we had to get back home so our sitter could get to work on time.). I love that running races...

Running with Ryan: Sunday Long Run

http://www.runningwithryan.net/2013/10/sunday-long-run.html

We prefer to run our long runs on Saturday morning, but because of the 5K this past Saturday we got our long run in Sunday morning instead. We also don't like to do a long run after a pace (or fast) run without a rest day in between, but we didn't have another time to do it so Sunday morning it was. I also had some new stuff to try for our long run this weekend, and new things are always exciting.right? Total Distance: 10 miles. Do you use any kind of fuel for races or long training runs? What do you use?

Running with Ryan: Determined Pace

http://www.runningwithryan.net/2013/11/determined-pace.html

Being an emotional eater (something I'm working on), the dreary weather and staying in did not help. I snacked (and not healthy snacks) all morning, then again around lunch time. I was determined to workout though. I finally got my upper focus workout done in the afternoon about half an hour before I had to get Natalie from the bus. I was still missing my run though. Once I got out running, I could tell I wasn't going to run as fast as I had hoped. I was running into a headwind and it was HOT. At least t...

Making sense of heartbreak with eyes pointed toward the hope of the Lord and his promises. Sunday, February 26, 2012. A good thing to have these breakdowns. I know that it could. Mean that I do not believe God is enough, or that his grace is sufficient for my sorrows, or that I am succumbing to sadness. But that is not what it is for me. I believe these breakdowns are truly part of my healing process. Like I mentioned before, it is not like me to stay. Brooke and Clint Schuelke. A great friend who has be...
