Working it | Running with safety scissors

http://www.runningwithsafetyscissors.com/2014/10/05/working-it-out

Running with safety scissors. On motherhood →. October 5, 2014. There’s this sense of dread a sort of depression mixed with anxiety and anger that I haven’t been able to shake lately. The coping mechanisms I’ve traditionally employed when feeling this way (motivational phrases scribbled on our white board, a long snuggle with my daughter, escape into books or wine) aren’t working. Issue, the shadow that hangs over me, the inescapable: journalism is burning me out. No. It has. So Much. Hate. What makes al...

Running with safety scissors. It’s not about just your child. Sugar and spice and everything nice. February 16, 2015. Boys will be be boys, and girls will be girls. Or so say our toy stores. Boy aisles in toy stores (which are often decorated with blue signage) are full of toys promoting building or engineering, fighting, vehicle play, and traditionally “male” occupations or pastimes like Firefighter dress-up clothes or tool boxes. That said, there are shops and brands out there that do a fantastic job m...

One more down, one to go. Yesterday was our next to last long run before the race. Rob and I were both SO happy with our run. Our last two long runs had not gone as well as we had hoped.
