A journey of 1000 stitches begins with just one ....: How Did I Do It
http://journeyof1000stitches.blogspot.com/2015/07/how-did-i-do-it.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. How Did I Do It. Unfortunately, I learned recently a friend was diagnosed with cancer. Instantly, I sent love and prayers. And I reached out. Call me anytime. I implored. No, really, I said, anytime. Even if you don't think you should, call. And at one point he asked me, "How did you do this? How did you get through it? And I had to bite my lip and hold back the tears. Because, I don't think I got through it very well. And I don't think I'm getting through it today much better.

A journey of 1000 stitches begins with just one ....: I think I'm more sad than them!
http://journeyof1000stitches.blogspot.com/2015/06/i-think-im-more-sad-than-them.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. I think I'm more sad than them! So, as every spring and start of summer, we've had kids playing ball. One baseball player. One softball player. I've been to almost all of their games - only missing a couple when they both play on the same night (and husband and I have to split games). I missed a few from not feeling that well. But I've been to almost every single game. But taking pictures of all these kids, I feel invested in both of their teams. I know I've talked about this bef...

Long time no see « Havoc and Mayhem

Laquo; Summer Scavenger Hunt. The oldest thing in the house. Long time no see. So it’s been a while hasn’t it? I recently traded the comfort of a part time desk job and climate control for full time hours on my feet in the warehouse where I am ‘unburdened by air conditioning’ as my boss puts it. The first week I was sure I would wind up crippled because my feet hurt so much. I got some gel inserts for my shoes and that helped some but the second week my feet hurt more and I was SOOOOOOOO tired. Inspectin...

Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. August 4, 2015. Giant metal chickens are everywhere. So Next month my new book. Comes out and if you read here often enough you’re already familiar with Rory, the gloriously ecstatic and somewhat terrifying taxidermied road-kill raccoon who graces the cover. To send to book sellers I mentioned how nice it was that all of these cardboard raccoons were traveling so bravely around the world as my stand-in. Ferris Mewler, Hunter S. Thomcat, Dorothy Barker and Rory. We haven...

There's a wonderful little store in downtown Tacoma called Moss Mineral. Shopkeeper Lisa Kinoshita has filled the space with mid-century treasures, curious objects, art, an array of unusual plants, and Lisa's lovely jewelry. It's gem of a store. A few months back, I stopped by M M and while chatting with Lisa, she asked if I might be interested in creating a window display. I instantly agreed, and we decided December would be a great month to do it. They were strung on lengths of gold embroidery floss al...

LadyGypsy.net - a blog by Kim Russell. Wasting Bandwidth since 1994. We bought a house! July 4, 2015. I have a home. Reason # 1298437 why my blog will never make money — when Big Life Events happen, I stop writing. I can’t help it. I’m always afraid I’m going to jinx things. We finally found a house, bought it, and moved in last Saturday! Last Saturday, we moved out of the Dee-luxe Apartment in the sky with the help of Aron Movers. Print by Mary Blair for Disney, postcards from Birchbox! Sure, I won̵...
