No Tricks, Just Treats | Someday Gourmet

https://somedaygourmet.wordpress.com/2009/10/12/no-tricks-just-treats

Tools of the Trade. Two aspiring foodies trying out recipes, restaurants and good cheap wine. October 12, 2009. No Tricks, Just Treats. Posted by SomedayGourmet under Food. As much as I have really not enjoyed living in a construction zone. For the past few months, it is really bothering me now that I’m reading all of these crafty blogs with their Halloween treat project ideas! I really hit the jackpot today when I discovered One Pretty Thing. Photo courtesy of Better Homes and Gardens. From your own site.

Tools of the Trade. Two aspiring foodies trying out recipes, restaurants and good cheap wine. Tools of the Trade. This section sort of goes against the budget-consciousness we try to emphasize on the rest of this blog as most of these items are not cheap by our standards. We love them though and wanted to share! They really help making cooking even more fun🙂. One of Jackie’s favorite whisks (and she has many! Williams-Sonoma Nonstick Goldtouch Mini Muffin Pan, 24-Cup. Le Creuset 2 1/4 quart Saucier.

Wine Wednesday | Someday Gourmet

https://somedaygourmet.wordpress.com/wine-wednesday

Tools of the Trade. Two aspiring foodies trying out recipes, restaurants and good cheap wine. Welcome to Wine Wednesday at Someday Gourmet! Wine is something we both enjoy, but Jackie is slightly more enthusiastic than Lucie (read: Jackie drinks a lot) so she’ll generally be leading these posts. We’ll primarily be recommending wines under $20 (if not under $10) because hey, this is the SOMEDAY Gourmet. If we had money to burn on expensive wine, chances are we’d be Today Gourmet. It’s Bay Scallop Season! | Someday Gourmet

https://somedaygourmet.wordpress.com/2009/11/10/its-bay-scallop-season

Tools of the Trade. Two aspiring foodies trying out recipes, restaurants and good cheap wine. November 10, 2009. It’s Bay Scallop Season! Posted by SomedayGourmet under Food. Every year Nantucket Bay Scallop season starts in October and it’s like Christmas come early. I was first introduced to these delicious little mollusks (about 1/3 the size of sea scallops) back in 2004 when I was living on Nantucket. For $25, residents of the island can pick up a permit, throw on some waders. Scallops in a Snap.

mad tasty: September 2010

http://madtasty.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Even though it's only September 29, New England has had it's share of brisk fall days. Brisk fall days, always mean comfort food on the menu. Adapted from ( Pasta Lazio. By John Barricelli from Martha Stewart). 4 Tbsp olive oil. 2 Boneless, skinless chicken fillets. 8 ounces sun-dried tomatoes, packed in oil, drained, and thinly sliced lengthwise. 2 cloves garlic, sliced. 1/2 cup white wine. 2 Tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley. 2 cups of steamed brocolli. Cook, turning once, until cooked through. Budweiser,...

go cook something: Too Hot to Cook!

http://gocooksomething.blogspot.com/2009/08/too-hot-to-cook.html

Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Too Hot to Cook! Sometimes it's just gross out. Humid, hot, and painful to even turn on the stove. That was my problem tonight. So I got together a salad of some lettuce, spinach, a half cup of chick peas, a 2.5 ounce bag of tuna, a handful of grape tomatoes, some raw broccoli and Ken's Italian dressing. Love Ken's! Throw it all together, and you have a great light meal for the hottest, most humid evening. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Traditionally called Gyoza, I have cooked and eaten these delicious morsels from early High School until last night. Not really until last night, but last night was the last time I made them. Certainly not the LAST time I WILL make them. This is one of my favorite dishes! The simpler you keep the ingredients the better they are. 2 skinless boneless chicken breasts cut into cubes. 1/3 - 1/2 head napa cabbage cut into cubes (to fit processor). 2 carrots grated or julienned. go cook something: Steamed Salmon and Broccoli

http://gocooksomething.blogspot.com/2009/07/steamed-salmon-and-broccoli.html

Sunday, July 26, 2009. Steamed Salmon and Broccoli. Since I just now made this blog to share all my favorite recipes, I thought I would start with the easiest one in the bunch! Plus, this is what I had for dinner tonight, so I took some pictures.the lighting is horrible, hopefully I will get better at food photography. I love this dish, but I only get to eat it when I am on my own for dinner. Scott openly dislikes Salmon (and broccoli for that matter), so I can never assault him with a meal like this.

http://gocooksomething.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 27, 2009. Wine and Garlic Pot Roast. This is an extremely easy stove top recipe for a flavorful pot roast. I've been making this for years, and it's always a pleaser! Serves 6 hungry people, or 2 with plenty of leftovers. 1 top, bottom or round roast between 3 - 4 pounds, this is a longer cooking method, so a more expensive cut would not make sense. (Don't use a chuck roast or your broth will be super fatty). 6 yellow or white potatoes medium sized. 1 small yellow onion - diced. Toss in ...
