A girl's journey to find peace in the form of cake. A bundt cake perhaps. Thursday, May 24, 2012. And then there was 1. I cannot believe how fast this program has gone. It has been such a whirlwind but I feel like I have learned a lot. My skillset has completely changed. What I thought I would hate I ended up loving and vice versa (well, I don't think I hated anything). Wait, no more reminiscing. I can't do that until after this class. The wings were the trickiest part for me. I must have made about ...

Stumbling Towards Bakery: February 2012

http://www.stumblingtowardsbakery.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

A girl's journey to find peace in the form of cake. A bundt cake perhaps. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Yesterday it seems like every thing came together at once. We have worked for a week on components of various items and yesterday we finally assembled. We were also surprised to find out that we would be graded on two of the items. We made chocolate souffles as well. They were pretty simple to make. Sunday, February 26, 2012. You can make them savory or sweet depending on your mood. The batter whips ...

A girl's journey to find peace in the form of cake. A bundt cake perhaps. Thursday, December 22, 2011. NYC, I love thee. I will write a little recap of my very first trip to New York City. Note that my husband blogged about our trip as it was happening so his it better. Really you should just ignore this post and read his. I learned two things on this trip. 1 All stereotypes about NYC are true. 2 NYC is the heart of Christmas. I learned four things about New York. 1 All stereotypes are true. 6 As promise...

Stumbling Towards Bakery: April 2012

http://www.stumblingtowardsbakery.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

A girl's journey to find peace in the form of cake. A bundt cake perhaps. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. My life has been a whirlwind of adventure, hard work, some loss and mostly gain lately. Shortly after my last post my grandfather-in-law died. He was an amazing man. The loss of him was felt deeply in our house and in my husband's whole family. That sort of put our lives on pause for a week while we helped with funeral preparations but it felt really good to be part of the process. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Stumbling Towards Bakery: October 2011

http://www.stumblingtowardsbakery.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

A girl's journey to find peace in the form of cake. A bundt cake perhaps. Monday, October 31, 2011. You win some, you lose some. The good news is that my foot has been getting better. The bad news is that I've gone and broke my neck. Or I pinched a nerve. Something bad mysteriously happened. All I know is that I can't turn my head and it hurts a whole lot. You win some, you lose some. Oh, and Happy Halloween! Friday, October 28, 2011. I made dinner for my husband! For desert I poached pears in white wine...

She Knows This Much is True.: June 2012

http://sheknowsthismuchistrue.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

She Knows This Much is True. I've always loved to write. Since I couldn't decide on one thing I am passionate about, I picked all of them. This is what I know is true. Thursday, June 28, 2012. The weekend in le nutshell (belated). Well, now that it's past mid-week, I guess I'll go ahead and share the weekend with you! Remember "the days are long, but the years are short" idea? Now I'm beginning to think that the days are short and the years are short too. JULY is upon us, people! Come watch me DJ! I'd as...

Pear of Hearts: Hello, 2012!

http://pearofhearts.blogspot.com/2012/01/hello-2012.html

A little bit of everything. Wednesday, January 4, 2012. So happy to see you! 2011 was a year of ups and downs, the very exciting and the very scary. And sometimes a little mix of the two. Hey you gotta have some balance, right? 2012 seems to be starting off on the right foot and here's to hoping that it stays that way. I hope everyone had as charming a holiday break as I did, I feel fully restored and ready to start off a new year full of new challenges and adventures. January 4, 2012 at 11:29 PM.

A little bit of everything. Thursday, February 2, 2012. Okay, so I know it's been a little too. Long since I've posted, but I have a reason I promise. Last month I started a new (old) job! Now I'm finally feeling acclimated and I've got a pretty good routine down, so. I'm back! Remember how I told you I'd spent three days after Christmas in Chicago? Well, it was lovely. Those three days were full of good food, lots of museums, and of course a whole lot of shopping! So filling, but SO GOOD}. Day 2 started...

A little bit of everything. Saturday, November 19, 2011. Close your eyes and breathe. I smell snow. Wait, close your eyes and breathe. I smell snow. Ah, it's that time of year. Can't you smell it? You know, it's like dogs and high-pitched noises. I think it's something only you can smell. Episode "Love and War and Snow"). Pear of Hearts: It's the Holiday Season

http://pearofhearts.blogspot.com/2011/11/its-holiday-season.html

A little bit of everything. Sunday, November 27, 2011. It's the Holiday Season. Last week bf and I went on the hunt for a Christmas tree! For the past three years I've had a 3.5 foot tree that fit nicely on a table top, but this year I had my heart set on a full size tree. Target pulls through again, and we bought a 7ft slim tree absolutely perfect for the spot right in front of the window. My favorite ornaments: the pine cones. November 28, 2011 at 11:22 AM. Isnt decorating for the holidays the best?

Friday, August 16, 2013. On Kindness and its Absence. I just read this powerful article. It resonated with me, especially now, as I turn over in my mind what makes a person kind. I consider myself quite fortunate, as I've probably encountered two or three people in my adult life that I would describe as truly unkind. That is, lacking a basic compassion and care for others that I've always assumed is present at birth and either expanded or diminished according to one's life experiences. And I crumpled in ...

A French Inspired Life. Thursday, September 13, 2012. If there is anytime to buy a fashion magazine September is it. This is the month where they all publish those thick novel like volumes full of Fall and Winter trends. I was unable to get my hands on an issue of Vogue Paris but I did grab InStyle, LouLou (Canadian Publication) and Marie Claire. I did manage to miss September Vogue U.S. which made me a bit sad. The trends I'm seeing:. Equestrian, not just for the horsey crowd anymore. What do you think?
