Becoming Indy: Iowa: Climate Central
http://becomingindy.blogspot.com/2009/02/iowa-climate-central.html
Comments on Midwest recreation, food, work and life. Saturday, February 28, 2009. However, the boom in corn for ethanol has also led farmers to convert more land into cropland. That releases carbon that was stored in shrubs and trees and in the soil, adding more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The result, surprisingly, is that corn ethanol may actually be worse for the climate than gasoline. The switch away from soybeans, meanwhile, may be leading indirectly to the destruction of rainforests in Brazi...

Check out Michael Pollan's letter to the President from the NY Times. It identifies three of the major issues in the current election debates - health care crisis, energy independence, and climate change - as having a common thread: the way we grow, process and eat our food. Thursday, October 2, 2008. Our NYC trip for work was to have some FFA. More Than A Feeling.

Teach Me Korea: The New Job
http://teachmekorea.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-job.html
Chronicle from Having Formerly Lived and Taught ESL in Korea. Sunday, January 27, 2008. Philanthropy is interesting. I wish I was a millionaire.scratch that, a billionaire.just so I could give money away professionally. Until I win the lottery, I am resigned to work in the industry of philanthropy. At least I am working for a cause. That is near and dear to my heart. I will be raising money for students who wear the blue jacket. There is great intrinsic value in supporting youth leadership and agricultur...

Chronicle from Having Formerly Lived and Taught ESL in Korea. Saturday, January 26, 2008. It has definitely been a while! After a two month hiatus from the blog sphere, it could have easily been assumed that I dropped off the face of the planet. Not so! A lot has happened in the past couple of months and rather than trying to sum it all up eloquently I'll spend the next several posts giving events due credit and highlighting some of the major items and/or turning points. Teach Me Korea: Wolf Cave
http://teachmekorea.blogspot.com/2008/02/wolf-cave.html
Chronicle from Having Formerly Lived and Taught ESL in Korea. Sunday, February 10, 2008. So, when the weather warms up, I want to go camping. A couple weekends ago I scouted this great state park a few hours south of Indy. McCormick's Creek State Park. Must have 300 camp sites so I'll definitely want to avoid the 4th of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. The park had some hiking trails throughout. Can one really call them hiking trails if the elevation varience is less than 15 feet? Two Worlds Two Voices.
