Wild Food School - Edible Seaweeds
http://wildfoodschool.co.uk/sw001.htm
Edible Seaweeds in the British Isles. Foraging for edible seaweeds can be fun. You have almost certainly eaten seaweed, or at least a product derived from seaweed, without ever realising it, and there are some five to six hundred seaweed species found around the coasts of the British Isles with about nine thousand found worldwide. Common in northern parts of the British Isles Alaria esculenta. Irish Moss / Carrageen. This is another long-standing and common edible seaweed. A perennial, the fronds gro...

Mortgages | Adrian Garside
https://adriangarside.wordpress.com/mortgages
Usually, it’s about money…. Through the 1990’s and up to 2007, the ‘known’ mortgage strategy for most people was to take a 2 year deal (because they were the cheapest) and in 2 years, swap over to another 2 year deal. Could be any number of reasons – house price change, change of job, lenders restrictions etc. So, what does this mean for you. If you have a mortgage and you want to borrow some more – to pay off credit, or pay for an extension or any other reason, the usual strategy was to remortgage.

Income Protection | Adrian Garside

Usually, it’s about money…. If you are employed, you probably get sick pay – Local Government people usually get 3 months full pay, followed by 3 months half pay if they are off sick for a long time. I guess you’d set this as the level to regard as good. People with smaller companies will often get less, although smaller companies could easily and quite cheaply change this by taking a corporate version of what I’m about to talk about. PHI can be set up to kick in at the 6 month mark and pay an income....

Sunday, 14 September 2008. This time of year is perhaps the one period when folks think about 'foraging', rather than using the remainder of the year as potential food input time. What happens to those berries? Well, likely as not, they probably end up as jam. That's absolutely fine, but there's also lots of other interesting things to do with your harvested berries, and hopefully this post will inspire you to experiment further. 2008 appears not to be a very good year for damsons in some parts of the UK...

Red Velvet Whoopie Pies. February 5, 2011 by wildfoodslori. I decided to try making red velvet whoopie pies because it’s almost Valentine’s day. What an experience! Aking hearts is time consuming but worth doing for the experience so you can make something fancy should you need to. However, I would only do it for a special occasion because the round pies taste just as good. I used dark cocoa powder and dark brown sugar for mine so they came out a darker red.
